Join us for a special online event that will shed light on the challenges of holding both identities, and the sense of alienation that can arise when one's own community supports, defends, or remains silent about those who actively persecute LGBTQ individuals in Iran and across the region.

As the world celebrates Pride Month, we turn our attention to a place where being LGBTQ is not just stigmatized,  it’s criminalized. In the Islamic Republic of Iran, queer identity is punishable by imprisonment, torture, and even execution.

In this virtual event, hosted by the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), leading Iranian LGBTQ+ activists will share their lived experiences of persecution, violence, and resistance, drawing urgent international attention to the brutal realities faced by queer individuals under the Iranian regime.

The purpose of this timely gathering is to expose the Islamic Republic’s systematic human rights violations against the LGBTQ+ community, amplify the voices of queer Iranians, and mobilize global solidarity in defense of their fundamental freedoms and dignity.

This forum is part of CAM’s ongoing advocacy efforts—led by Public Affairs Officer Natalie Sanandaji—to shine a light on the Iranian regime’s widespread repression. While CAM is dedicated to combating antisemitism worldwide, it also stands firmly against all forms of bigotry and state-sponsored violence, including those targeting the LGBTQ+ community.
