A Legacy Shared: Celebrating Julius Rosenwald’s Gift to America
A virtual ceremony honoring philanthropist Julius Rosenwald, whose vision of shared progress transformed the American story.

Join the Jewish-American Hall of Fame and the Combat Antisemitism Movement for a special virtual induction ceremony celebrating Julius Rosenwald (1862–1932), the pioneering philanthropist, Sears Roebuck president, and humanitarian whose partnership with Booker T. Washington led to the creation of more than 5,000 Rosenwald Schools across the American South.

Through his visionary generosity, Rosenwald helped empower generations of African American students and advanced a shared vision of equality, education, and civic responsibility, a legacy that continues to inspire today. This year’s program will feature remarks from leading historians, museum directors, and descendants of Rosenwald and Washington, along with a special video presentation from the Julius Rosenwald & Rosenwald Schools National Historical Park Campaign.

Together we will celebrate an American story of generosity, partnership, and the power of education to build a more inclusive future.
